Teen Summer Reading begins on June 26!

HKDPL's teen summer reading program. get a welcome bag, log books online every week to win prizes, record the most points to win a one year membership to the american museum of natural history. 100 points per book, 20 points per book review, 10 points per minigame on readsquared, 50 points for each summer reading program attended teens
teen summer reading program flyer. 50 points each and snack included. build a dinosaur summer reading kickoff friday june 26 2 to 5 pm at both library branches. sign up for summer reading! split into teams and compete to build LEGO dinosaur sets to be displayed in the teen room and village all summer. enter a raffle to bring one home. gemstone mining, friday july 10 from3 to 4:30 pm. dig and clean fossils and real gems. keep what you find! registration required. reconstructed pottery, thursday july 30 from 4 to 6 pm, put smashed pottery back together like an archaeologist, registration required. dinosaur double feature summer reading finale friday august 14 from 3 to 8 pm. watch jurassic park and jurassic world to end the summer. pizza will be served between films. registration required. teens
express yourself pride buttons, wednesday june 3 at 3:30 pm. create your own button to wear for pride or use one of our pre-made flag templates. program for teens

act self guided test prep. need a quiet place to study for the act? stop by and have a productive study session. teens program
esthetics with camille, wednesday june 17 at 3:30 pm. join esthetician camille rosa for a rundown of all things beauty and a hands on demonstration of eyebrow mapping and lash extensions. registration required. for teens and tweens.
teen room window painting, wednesday june 24 at 3 pm. leave your mark on the teen room for the month and paint on our windows. clean designs only please. teens program.

The Michael L. Printz Award, 2026

The Michael L. Printz Award is an award for a book that exemplifies literary excellence in young adult literature. It is named for a Topeka, Kansas school librarian who was a long-time active member of the Young Adult Library Services Association. The award is sponsored by Booklist, a publication of the American Library Association.
